Removu K1 All in One Stabilizer Sports Slow Motion!

One of the few under the radar products that caught our attention is the Removu K1 all in one stabilized three axis gimbal camera system which has an included LCD screen and 4+ hours of battery life. It has advanced features for creating several kinds of moves, time lapse, panning motion and crane-like shots.

It also includes three high frame rate modes to spice up the package. It can shoot 1080p 120fps with GoPro Hero 5-6 like quality and 720p 240fps which we have yet to see due to a lack of samples. However, for a reasonable price of $429 USD this ultra-portable stabilized camera system might be the best option for vloggers on the move.  The 4k 30p quality is pretty respectable in itself with similar quality to the Hero 5 Black as they use similar components. → Continue Reading Full Post ←

Canon Sensors at CES 2018 With Impressive Specs!

Canon Sensors

Canon at CES 2018 was showing three CMOS sensor products that can be used in a variety of devices like DSLRs, Mirrorless, Surveillance, Manufacturing and Scientific experimentation. These new parts feature massive improvements in resolution, class-leading low light ability and a Global Shutter in one instance.

While none of the sensors could be named a really slow motion capable part, the 5 Megapixel 2/3″ sensor can scan the full chip at 120fps which may mean higher frame rates if using windowed resolution.  The small size of the sensor also means it will need a lot of light to deliver a noise-free image.  This sensor also sports a global shutter design which is perfect for high-speed applications. → Continue Reading Full Post ←

DJI Mavic Air Ultra Portable 4k Drone!

DJI Mavic Air

The new Mavic Air may actually be the drone you have been waiting for.  It has most of the technologies that have evolved on pricier drones like the Inspire series and Phantom high-end consumer offerings like obstacle avoidance, awareness sensors, and now at this tiny size, a 4k 30p 3-axis gimbal stabilized camera.  The 4k recording ups the ante at 100mbps compared to the Mavic Pro’s 60mbps which was a big issue for motion artifacts and clearly separated the quality lines on phantom and Mavic series.

The new drone also has the ability to shoot 120fps Full HD 1080p video in what looks like improved quality “but still a little noisy” which is also a plus.  The sensor is the same as on the Mavic Pro with a 1/2.3″ size at 12MP with HDR still shooting mode and an 85°-degree FOV. The main feature of course is the size which is slightly bigger than last year’s spark but with finally 4k image quality. Portability is probably the most important drone feature today. → Continue Reading Full Post ←

Galaxy S9 Super Slow Motion Leaks!

Galaxy S9 Super Slow Motion

The Galaxy S9 leaks are coming and we are glad to see super slow motion prominently displayed on the box spec list. However, there are no real specs when it comes to frame rates apart from a set of rumors we have received.  The frame rate supposedly shipping with the S9 paired with the “Exynos 9 Series 9810” SoC will be capable of 120fps 4k and up to 960/1000fps 1080p video recording.

One problem, however, is that in the USA the phone will not ship with the Exynos 9 Series 9810 but the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 which may not support the slow motion frame rates. In other places in the world, however, the  Exynos 9 Series 9810 will be on the phone.  This is the fault of a 1993 agreement between Samsung Qualcomm which forbids them from releasing phones with their own chips. More info about it here at Forbes. → Continue Reading Full Post ←

fps4000 In Production Plus New Quality Footage!

fps4000 Slow Motion

Warning: The parent company of FPS cameras “The Slow Motion Camera Company Ltd.” went out of business and entered liquidation proceedings. No further development of cameras is expected. More information here on Google Search

The fps4000 camera hinted in Q4 of 2017 as the camera to replace the fps lineup is now entering its first production batch and it will fulfill the promises to backers that expected a camera either in 1080p or 4k.  The fps4000 will reach up to 4k resolution at 500fps in it’s highest configuration. This is half the performance of the Phantom Flex 4k camera when it comes to frame-rate at that resolution. → Continue Reading Full Post ←
