HTC U Ultra & New Slow Motion Videos!

We have five recent slow motion videos that may peak your interest plus a new HTC Phone released with a slow motion function.  While there has been a quiet front in the phone space slow motion since the introduction of the Google Pixel last year; we expect great things in 2017 like the announcement of the Galaxy S8 and iPhone 7s among others.

The HTC U Ultra is not a high performance phone when it comes to video recording but it does provide a slow motion function that is a little subdued due to the 720p 120fps limitation. Ambarella H3 Paves Way for Portable 8k Video!

Ambarella has introduced two new SoC chipsets for portable electronics that shoot video.  The H3 capable of up to 8k video or dual 4k 60fps streams for 360º VR video and also the H22 which is a souped up version of the H2 found on cameras like the Yi 4k+ that will be shooting 4k 60p and up to 120fps 1080p video.

No real leads were given into what specific cameras will be incorporating the new chipset but from indications of past releases it is safe to say that the best action cameras, some high end phones and drone centric cameras will be sporting this new SoC in their specs by the end of this year.  If we had to bet we will probably see a Hero 5+ using the H22 before the H3 as 8k video seems a huge jump for a refresh model. → Continue Reading Full Post ←

fps1000HD is Now Shipping in Quantity!

The Panasonic GH4 still is a very popular camera for enthusiasts, film makers and mirror-less fans.  It is one of the few high quality consumer priced cameras that shoot 4k still today two years after it’s introduction.  It is a tall order to improve on it sufficiently to warrant current owners to upgrade in droves and make long time Canon, Nikon or Sony owners witch to the Lumix Micro 4/3ds platform. Chronos 1.4 Few Days Left and More Info!

The Chronos 1.4 high speed camera Kickstarter campaign has just a few days to go towards the final stretch.  The extreme success of the campaign now nearing $500k Canadian Dollars or $370k USD is due to several factors including a compelling product, price point and good social media promotion.

There are just over 5 days to go before you can back this campaign. The 180 backers of the project are eager to get the camera scheduled to be delivered early next year by March or May depending on the pledge time.  The early bird backer production is one week early according to David Kronstein the creator.
