A rumored Sony sensor part code IMX189AEG has been captivating the camera rumor world last week. The specs seem almost like a fictionalized version of a wish list but it may well be not only real but a sign of things to come in sensor technology. The sensor specs are as follows:
6K Video at 240fps
2K Video at up to 16,000fps 16 bit
1080p max 24,000fps
1.5″ Sensor Close to Micro 4/3ds size
4.85 megapixels using Active Pixel Color Sampling
Global Shutter
Native ISO of 5120
Max ISO 655,360

The Sony PXW-FS7 Pro camera besides the 4k up to 30p spec also offers a great 180fps slow motion mode at 1080p continuous. We expected the quality to be as good or better than the FS700 and it was the right call. The quality of the slow motion is extremely good and uses a better XAVC codec; And will position for now the FS7 in the 3rd spot of the camera list guide right behind the FS700 displacing the GH4 to 4th place.

Apple today refreshed both the iPad Air and the iPad Mini lines with basically just refined specs but not a re-design or groundbreaking update. The iPad Air 2 is adding the 120fps 720p slow motion feature first seen on the iPhone 5s and bettered in the iPhone 6. However the iPad is not as generous as the iPhone 6’s 240fps and only sports half the frame rate.
Furthermore the iPad Mini 3 has no slow motion feature and seems the least refreshed tablet. If you want an iPad Tablet this year then the iPad Air 2 is a better option overall. If you just got an iPhone 6 or 6+ then both iPad models will be downgrades in performance and features except for the larger screens.
