fps4000 Website Launch With Order Page!

fps4000 Website

The fps4000 is starting production of 1080p units with 4k cameras following closely behind. The Slow Motion Camera Company Ltd. has launched a new website today with specs, pricing and an easy order page which will let you finally be in the order queue for an fps1000, fps2000 and fps4000 camera.  Website here: https://www.slomocamco.com

We are expecting an fps4000 camera for our lab sometime in the 1st quarter of the year which will let us put it through its paces.   The cameras aim to change the way you record slow-motion footage by allowing up to 2 minutes continuous recording in camera solid state memory which can free up DPs from the typical few seconds in slow motion cameras. This, in theory, allows recording an entire production in slow motion which can be ramped in speed slow or faster if needed. → Continue Reading Full Post ←

fps4000 In Production Plus New Quality Footage!

fps4000 Slow Motion

The fps4000 camera hinted in Q4 of 2017 as the camera to replace the fps lineup is now entering its first production batch and it will fulfill the promises to backers that expected a camera either in 1080p or 4k.  The fps4000 will reach up to 4k resolution at 500fps in it’s highest configuration. This is half the performance of the Phantom Flex 4k camera when it comes to frame-rate at that resolution.

The fps4000 also has a lower resolution configuration for 1080p at 2000fps.  Back in 2017 on the announcement, there were configurations up to 4000fps at 720p using different sensors. The hardware main design seems to be shared among the cameras which makes it possible to offer different models at accommodative costs. This should allow all Kickstarter backers to have their promised camera and continue the line for new customers who need low cost extra long recording times in camera. → Continue Reading Full Post ←

Slow Motion End Of Year Rumors & Predictions!

Slow Motion End Of Year Rumors & Predictions!

2017 was a very important year for affordable high-speed cameras. We had impressive performance across the board while prices kept mostly in the same brackets as 2016. You get increased recording time in the Sony RX series and incredible resolution on a 1080p camera at over 2000fps with the edgertronic SC2X.

We have some new rumors submitted that can shed some light on the releases for 2018 and beyond when it comes to high frame rate capable cameras. Rest assured that any and all rumors can change, be discredited in part or simply be completely false.  We have chosen only the ones that have a higher chance of being true. → Continue Reading Full Post ←

edgertronic SC2X Review – Part 3!

edgertronic SC2X Review - Part 3

Over the last seven weeks testing and shooting with the edgertronic SC2X  high-speed camera we have a complete picture of what this camera can do and where it can really shine. This camera is a special one in its own right because it is the breakthrough 1080p Full HD camera that achieves 2,000fps at excellent quality for film and TV productions.  This is a camera we have been waiting for a long time and it is all that we were expecting and more concerning quality and frame rates.

Part 3 of this review will focus on the camera’s portable setup capability.   We will also go into the newly introduced overclocking feature which makes the camera a lot more capable, things still left to add into the software platform that could improve the user experience and help in getting the shot plus, a conclusion for the SC2X review. → Continue Reading Full Post ←

edgertronic Latest Firmware Boosts Overclocking!

edgertronic Latest Firmware Overclocking

edgertronic has been working hard on a new firmware update that boosts frame rates for the newer SC2, SC2+ and SC2X cameras which makes it possible to shoot at full resolution several hundreds of extra frames while maintaining near stock video quality.  This first update iteration adds an overclocking setting menu to the SC2, SC2+ and SC2X cameras with 5% increments in four settings.

Now the SC2+, for example, can shoot above 5000fps at 720p full resolution from the maximum stock of 4456fps.   Overclocking settings come in four settings and while your mileage may vary according to your camera, most settings should work as advertised. We tested the SC2X at all settings and find that Overclock A 5% and B 10% offer quality very close to the stock setting and allowing for over 2000fps. → Continue Reading Full Post ←

In Part 1 of this review, we looked at the body and design of the edgertronic SC2X camera. Touched on the mount and available frame rates including a few new changes and some video samples. Part two is all about using and understanding the abilities and limitations of the camera as a high-speed tool for Film, TV, Science, Sports, Medicine and other industries.

The edgertronic SC2X is the culmination of a lot of engineering prowess and expectations for a full HD 1080p capable high-speed camera that is both capable and usable for the most demanding image quality trials. The 1,910fps speed is ideal for capturing a plethora of human and physical events that do not happen in the blink of an eye but over a few seconds. Sports videographers and Nature shooters will feel right at home with the resolution finally being big enough for the minimum submission guidelines of TV production and Film post. → Continue Reading Full Post ←
