Looks like the rumors got it wrong again in regards to the 240fps for the Samsung Galaxy S6. They did however hit it with the 720p at 120fps slow motion mode for both the Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9 phones. This is basically the same spec most high end phones that did slow motion sported. What broke the trend is the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus with 240fps at 720p.
Warning: The parent company of FPS cameras “The Slow Motion Camera Company Ltd.” went out of business and entered liquidation proceedings. No further development of cameras is expected. More information here on Google Search!
It is almost March 1st which is the day set for the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the HTC One M9. Both devices are the flagship phones for their respective brands for the year and a lot is hanging for the success of these devices to steal the thunder from the Apple iPhone 6.
On February 4th GoPro released the firmware version 2.0 for the GoPro Hero 4 Black and Silver cameras. There has now been a large adoption of the firmware in the hands of owners and there is no indication of problems or stability issues with the update. The update includes a 240fps 720p upgrade from the previous 120fps and it looks and works very good. A 2.7k 60fps mode is also included which is a first for a camera in this price range.
Mediatek posted a video a few days ago showing the 480fps Full HD capability of it’s MT6795 chip. It shows the clip at regular speed then at 120fps and then finally at 480fps full HD. As to the quality some speculate the footage is not shot by a Phone but from a real high speed camera. We think it is shot by the phone but edited and sweetened in post to look as good.→ Continue Reading Full Post ←
