DJI OSMO Pocket Slow Motion will have 120fps!

Early on in the beta testing of the device, the OSMO Pocket by DJI released this week had gimbal stabilized 1080p 120fps included in the specs. However, by launch, the slow motion frame rate disappeared. There were anecdotal discussions that the device overheated in the mode and that is why it was pulled out of the product launch. However, there are no official statements to back this up.

DJI Should release the new firmware update for the OSMO Pocket by December 15th just in time for Christmas delivery of the product. At Just $349 USD, it will probably be a GoPro killer as a stocking stuffer during the holiday season.  Initial samples show the low light video quality besting the GoPro but the slow-motion mode is still less detailed than the Action Camera.  The stabilization is incredible and beats everything in its price range including the Hero 7 Black. → Continue Reading Full Post ←

New Phantom Camera 1080p 20,000fps in 2018?

Vision Research the creator of the Phantom, has posted a new Christmas Ornament slow motion video that hints at a new camera release for January 2018. From the looks of it, it may be capable of 20,000fps at 1080p resolution. When you look at the footage sample the resolution does look very well but it may be 720p if you really nitpick the edges which look somewhat aliased when played back at 1080p.  Whichever the case may be 20k fps at HD resolution brings in an amazing performance and probably a high price alongside it.  Happy Holidays! -HSC

fps1000 Gets a New Case and More Memory!

fps1000CaseThree1

A lot has been happening behind the scenes with the fps1000 camera and we get a glimpse of those in the latest update published today by Graham Rowan.  Many are waiting impatiently for the camera but have decided to wait it out to get a better and more solid product.  If you look at the early fps1000 camera design the current iterations are light years ahead in capability and build quality. That of course comes at a cost in both price and time but it is nothing sort of a small miracle that the camera continues to progress further with more iterations of the motherboard and aiming to pass EMC and FCC Testing in order to ship.

There is a lot to digest in the update and we will post and analyze the information below. We have cleared a couple of points with the creator in order to have  a more informed opinion but on the whole we feel a camera be it the silver, gold or platinum will probably ship by the end of this year or early 2016. → Continue Reading Full Post ←
