Right on the rumor heels of the LX8 we get a new camera from Panasonic. The FZ1000 looks like a GH4 only larger and with a huge lens (Non Interchangeable). The specs on the camera surprised us and it follows our slow motion estimation for improvement.

The LX7 is a great slow motion camera on the cheap and you can still get one while they last for under $400. Rumors around the net hint that a replacement Panasonic LX8 is being readied for a July 16th release.
Specs wise not much is known but the claims say that a 1″ sensor and Electronic View Finder EVF not unlike that of the Sony RX100 mkIII will be the big upgrades. The Panasonic LX7 does great slow motion at 720p 120fps with quality too good for something this small. It will be premature to predict but the logical progression for the LX8 is to offer 120fps at 1080p and 240fps at 720p. Don’t hold your breath but if this camera delivers it might become the next best thing in cheap quality Slow Motion.

While we test the Panasonic Lumix GH4 slow motion mode we have come across the fact that the 96fps mode is actually better than expected at above 720p resolution. Many claims suggested that it was just 720 up-resed to 1080p and leave it at that.

Veredict: Comparable to the Galaxy S4, S5 and Note 3 but not as good as the iPhone 5s or HTC One M8 in 120fps mode.
The just announced OnePlus One Phone from the Shenzhen China based company OnePlus has some pretty impressive specs for a low price.
The phone is very capable and should create competition to the Nexus 5 from Google and Galaxy S5. 720p 120fps is not a new spec it was available since the Note 2, Galaxy S4, iPhone 5s, HTC One, Note 3 and Galaxy S5. The iPhone 5s and the HTC One have about the same resolution in hi speed mode which is not true 720p.
