Jonathan Houldsworth has posted a video detailing this week’s rumor of the expected Panasonic GH5s camera. The video includes the detailed 4k footage zoom in that started all of it. As far as we can tell the footage has not been doctored and this is a new camera with a red ring. 4/3 Rumors is also pushing back the date of the GH5s announcement from December 15th to January 8th 2018 due to a mixup between the press event and the public release. GH5s Rumor Video Analyzed & Dispelled! (Updated)
The video that started the entire speculation craze the past few days from Neumann Films showing a supposed GH5s Panasonic camera with a red colored dial akin to that of the recently announced Lumix G9. We have downloaded the video and isolated the video frames where the red dial is visible and scaled it for easy showing.
The camera is in our interest because it may offer 4k 120fps in its specs according to the rumors. In our findings, the supposed GH5s camera is nothing more than a plain GH5 camera that is momentarily reddened by a compression artifact set of macroblocks that changes to a red hue after a light change, then reverts back to normal. In our video analysis, you can clearly see the effect.
Sony A7R III Shares a9 120fps Full HD Capability!
The newly announced Sony A7R Mark III is one impressive full-frame beast of a camera that aims for high-resolution enthusiasts who do not want to compromise on features, speed, and autofocus by having a superior pixel count sensor. The 42 MP Camera shares the same pixel count and what seems the same sensor as the A7R II but it is improving on both image quality and features.
It makes a mature revision to the series with 10fps shooting at full resolution, slow motion now is 1080p Full-HD 120fps in video mode compared to 720p HD before, AF is now a9 like with blazing fast performance with continuous tracking in video mode. Of note and what could be it’s most impressive new spec is an in Body Stabilization system claiming 5.5 f stops of shake correction. That is very impressive for an IBIS system.

Sony New IMX382 Sensor Tracks Objects at 1000fps!
Sony is not only pushing the frame rate boundaries of CMOS sensors with their Stacked technology; but now it’s implementing and improving on the design with circuitry that can track objects with pinpoint electronic precision based on pixel colors, contrast, and motion vectors. The result the IMX382 is a complete tracking sensor solution that could one day be used for full AF during high-speed video capture by accurately representing the scene.
While 1000fps is not the end all be all of high-speed frame rate, the fact that it can accurately track with very little lag the object motion in front could one day translate into perfect autofocus capability for many types of cameras. Not only the focus department is improved by this technology but now you can use the sensor in all sorts of industrial, law enforcement, traffic cameras and monitoring solutions for robotics.
Canon Releases New EOS & M Cameras!
Yesterday Canon unveiled the Canon EOS 77D, EOS T7i & the M6 Mirrorless. Al three are geared to photo enthusiasts and contain a video component that in some ways resembles the releases of other companies from 2014. The real improvement with these cameras comes in the way of dual pixel AF sensors that are able to track in video mode with precision.
The pricing on these cameras is very aggressive with the 77D @ $899.99 body only, T7i for $749.00 body only and M6 with 15-45mm lens for $899. You get a lot of still camera for your money and a somewhat competitive 1080p video camera with up to 60fps in that mode.
