It is almost March 1st which is the day set for the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the HTC One M9. Both devices are the flagship phones for their respective brands for the year and a lot is hanging for the success of these devices to steal the thunder from the Apple iPhone 6.
High frame rates have been stagnant in DSLRs since the Canon EOS 7D with 60fps at pseudo 720p resolution started the higher than 30p spec in mirrored large sensor cameras.
Now – a new rumor posted at Nikorumors.com of the Nikon D7200 DSLR which is replacing the very popular D7100, seems to gain 60fps at 720p to do a total of 120fps at 720p for the first time in a mirrored camera. There is a rumor that may become real in the coming days of the release of the HTC A55 Desire Phone with the Mediatek MT6795 chip capable of true slow motion in full HD 1080p at 480fps. The specs are as follows:
China Mobile Mag is reporting on a leaked “original source here” road map that states that the MT6795 phone chip is being released in handsets before the end of Q1 2015.
Next week January 6-9, in Las Vegas Nevada the 2015 CES show will take place. Usually the show doesn’t show much in the way of hi speed but a few gems have come out of the show in the past like the Panasonic W850 & V750 which a year later still hold their own as the best slow motion general purpose camcorders in quality with the 9th and 10th place in our slow-mo camera guide. These have recently come down in price considerably!
