A few weeks ago the Kipon full Auto focus, Iris and IS enabled EF to M43 adapter was announced. Many huge doubts lingered to it’s effectiveness in Auto Focus as any other AF adapter for the likes of Sony cameras for example take several seconds to lock onto a target. The Kipon promises to be a seamless adapter for Canon EF lenses on Micro 4/3 system cameras like the Panasonic GH4.

The MIT Edgerton Centeris offering a new 4 day in depth course in high speed imaging at their Cambridge, MA Campus. The Edgerton center is as you guessed it the DOC Edgerton building named after the famous high speed imaging researcher and inventor. It is also the main inspiration for the edgertronic high speed camera. It could be a great way to get exposed to the latest gear from the top manufacturers of high speed cameras and learn techniques, lighting for hi speed and problem solving.

Garmin has decided to upgrade their action VIRB cameras to a more competitive GoPro Like form factor with an impressive set of features that is sure to make adrenaline enthusiasts think twice about what camera to get.
What sets it apart is that the new Garmin VIRB cameras record, altitude, GPS, velocity, rotation, temperature in the file information as vectors to be applied to the footage later for analysis. Blackmagic Design has now made it a tradition to blow away the competition when it comes to NAB announcements. This year it seems it is no different with refinements to almost every product in their arsenal including DaVinci Resolve which has also a major update which will make it an even better video editing solution. Which is also bundled with their cameras.
It has been nearly 6 years since the EOS 7D DSLR was introduced in September 2009. That was the last time canon offered a frame rate bump which was 720p at 60fps. It was an ok mode but highly aliased and of low quality. Now Canon has unveiled two new cameras that jump the frame rate to 120fps. The first camera is the all inclusive Canon XC10 which is like a new incarnation of the all in one do it all camera with some pro features that seem to separate it from cameras like the Panasonic FZ1000 MSRP $749.
The Nikon 1 J5 was no secret since some leaks have been out for some time. However it is clear that the Nikon 1 line remains focused on speed be it still images or video. However they seem to be capping the frame rates on the HD side and upping the resolution in the 1200 and 400fps ranges by a few lines. We believe the reason is product separation so that the Nikon 1 V4 will be able to have some increase in specs while having the same basic internals.
