The rumor mill is heating up when it comes to the third generation Moto X phone from Motorola Mobility. The struggling company subset of the once mighty Motorola went from selling their mobile phone arm to Google in 2011; which then offloaded in 2014 to Chinese Lenovo best known as a PC manufacturer that took over the manufacturing and re branding of IBM Laptops.
The Moto X has been a popular phone but not one with class leading specs. As it turns out the rumors still follow the mantra of being a follower in feature set rather than being innovators. Kinefinity a relatively new company that specializes in digital cinema cameras is about to release to customers theKINEMAX 6kcapable camera. At first glance it looks like a RED Epic clone as the body and design aesthetics suggest however their technology is in house and their prices are much more accessible. The company is based in Beijing China and two of their cameras now offer high quality slow motion modes.
We are doing an in depth review of the affordableedgertronic digital high speed camerathat should be published soon, however one of the tests involved showing how the shutter curtain mechanism works on the Panasonic GH4 at different speeds. Fastec Imaging known for very capable but very expensive high speed cameras for scientific and video production/cinema has announced a new camera based on the same TS3-TS4 Cine platform they initially released a few years back at NAB which has been extremely popular for rental and ownership.
The camera is called the Fastec TS5-H which is an upgrade from previous TS cameras as it delivers full HD performance with a newly developed sensor at speeds up to 634fps at 1080p. 720p on the other hand delivers 943fps which is very close to the 1000fps realm that is almost negligible. The new Sony FDR-X1000V Action cam has been arriving to users and there is a lot to like. For starters the image stabilization while “Digital only not optical” is excellent and something GoPro needs to include in it’s offerings. There is some stuttering in heavy motion but does work very well. Resolution will be reduced by stabilization as the image borders are cropped on the Sony FDR-X1000V.
The color is very saturated the low light beats the GoPro easily when it comes to detail. It is still no low light champ but it does offer better performance than the Hero 4 Black.→ Continue Reading Full Post ←

As expected the cameras perform fantastically well and are at this time still the best camcorder value for regular and slow motion video for your money.
