The fps1000 Camera is reaching a new milestone today with the first Silver Gold and Platinum basic models displayed in full manufactured case and final packaging. These will be ready to ship at any moment.
The Panasonic GH4 has been an incredible camera since it’s release. It has produced endless content for TV, the web and even some films. While slow motion tops at 96fps in this camera with limited resolution, it has a pretty strong 4k mode that has virtually no aliasing or moire artifacts.
The camera has not been left in the cold by Panasonic as firmware updates have been released with fair regularity including the V-Log update for extended dynamic range. However that update required a $100 software key to unlock that picture style. The Latest update announced as version 2.5 now has the following features added.

The fps1000 camera created by Graham Rowan on Kickstarter has had a few setbacks but seems to be getting close to shipping form with the latest update. The early Kickstarter backers of the Gold, Silver and Platinum will probably be the first to receive the camera with a C Mount metal port as seen in the image released by Rowan.
There is no question that DigitalRev TV is the Top Gear of camera reviews on the internet. We are big fans of the antics of Kai and Lok doing all sorts of cool shoots and taking the mundane out of camera testing by making it fun or even ridiculous.
This time around they have decided to try the Sony RX10 II and The Sony RX100 IV slow motion feature for a spin. The video is educational also going over the basics of slow motion shooting with these cameras and comparing them with smartphones capable of doing slow motion. Mobile World Congress in Barcelona came and went and two phones are the real stars of the show. The Galaxy S7 by Samsung and the LG G5 which are both of the most anticipated Android phones ever. The Korean companies go head to head on features and looks and while they are close in specs they differ a lot when it comes to camera specs and the fine details.
The LG G5 disappoints by only being able to record at 1080p 60fps which tops it’s frame rate recording. This is even a step down from the LG G4 which recorded 120fps at 720p. The LG G5 as a slow motion phone is now off the table. Which leaves us with the Samsung Galaxy S7 and it’s near twin the Galaxy S7 Edge with a curved screen but same specs.
The EOS 70D was a big upgrade from the 60D in that nearly everything was better from the AF for stills, performance and live view Autofocus. The Canon 80D just released improves even more on the 70D than ever before by using a truly exceptional AF stills module with 45 all cross type points. This is 1D level performance in a 1k USD price range.
They include a sensor that has Dual Pixel CMOS AF same as the recently released EOS 1DX Mk II which is a 5x more expensive camera. This is in our view the killer feature of the 1DX Mk II and of the 80D as it becomes a true usable video camera with reliable autofocus. Previously unimaginable in either handycams, other video cameras and DSLRs.
